of Bus & Coach Body Characteristics Notation
The convention for noting the characteristics of a vehicle's body is
based upon three components:
* Body Type
* Seating Capacity
* Body Details
For example B40F represents:
[B] a single-deck bus
[40] seating capacity of 40
[F] a front entrance.
Double deck buses have their seating capacity noted in the form of the
upper deck capacity / lower deck seating capacity. For example H43/30F represents:
[H] double-deck "highbridge" bus
[43] upper deck seating capacity of 43
[30] lower deck seating capacity of 30
[F] front entrance.

[*] The terms "Highbridge" and "Lowbridge" can cause
some confusion, as they refer to the design of the bus body, not to it's
overall height. "Highbridge"
buses have the walkway at the same level as the seats, whereas "Lowbridge"
buses have a sunken walkway.
