Sub-titled: including the fondly remembered Kingsway Subway
The tramways along the Victoria Embankment and through the Kingsway Subway were among the best known and most admired sections of the London system.
They are fully illustrated and affectionately described herein, as are the nearby routes south of the Thames.
At the time of writing the tram tracks are still in place down the slope at the North end of the Kingsway Tunnel. Each day a few visitors make the pilgrimage to this unusual surviving icon from the tramway period, whilst many others travel by road through the South end of the tunnel.
