This important title looks at the design of buses over the past half-century, describing the various influences on bus design - legislation, advances in technology, modern materials and operators demanding more distinctive buses - against the background of social change. Included are historical notations to illustrate how buses developed from the high-built solid-tyred machines of 100 years ago to the increasingly sophisticated buses of the decades since the 1950s.
