Midland Red, the common name for the Birmingham & Midland Motor Omnibus Co Ltd, was one of the greatest of Britain's regional bus companies.

With its origins stretching back to before the outbreak of the Great War, the company grew to become the dominant force in the region. Apart from the operation of buses over a wide geographical area, it built its own single and double-decker buses until 1970, constructing a wide range of innovative bus designs.

In some 85 superb colour illustrations portraying the company's operations and fleet in a period stretching from the late 1950s through to the early 1970s, the classic designs of Midland Red's own manufacture are prominently featured alongside those vehicles acquired in later years from outside contractors, emphasising how varied the large Midland Red fleet was during this period.
