The single deck Paris bus has become something of a style icon. This book captures Paris as it was from 1935 to 1971. Buildings, people, places, streets, the haunt of the open backed buses that are no more. Many of the photographs are taken from the platform, many more show Paris, as it still is, save only for the absence of the old faithful green and cream veterans.
The book's title 'Paris Is Well Worth A Bus' is based upon the quotation from King Henry IV of France 'Paris Is Well Worth A Mass'. The author really knows his subject. His passion for the Renault TN4 bus dates from their introduction in 1932. When the vehicles were retired from service he brought bus number 3267 back to England for preservation.
This book is now regarded as a classic.
