Subtitled: The properties and stowage of cargoes
Generally regarded as the definitive reference book on the properties
and stowage of cargoes for nearly 70 years, Thomas' Stowage is
officially recommended by many organisations in the safe handling and
carriage of goods by land, sea and air.
This invaluable publication should be essential reading for ship owners
in their freight, marine and claims departments and by their ship's
officers. Maritime lawyers, surveyors, marine and cargo insurance
companies, ship's agents, terminal operators, freight forwarders,
container packers and training schools too will find this book to be a
handy point of reference.
Topics covered include safety, techniques and systems, commodities, damage and claims, procedures and various appendices.
This sixth edition of Thomas' Stowage retains
the format of previous editions, providing a quick reference to
procedures and individual commodities. Parts 2 and 3 have been
extensively revised. In particular, entries in Part 3 have been amended
where necessary with particular attention given to dangerous goods and
bulk cargoes, the rationalising of entries has also been progressed.
