The settings for these photographs cover a wide range of GWR locations, as follows: Bristol Temple Meads, Dawlish, Fowey, Hayes, London Paddington, Newquay, Newton Abbot, Oxford, Par, Penzance, Slough, Southall, Teignmouth, Truro, Wellington, Weymouth Harbour, Windsor and Wolverhampton
Apart from the Great Western locomotives the photographs also depict clerestory coaches, milk vans, station buildings, signals (including reversing signals) and a variety of types of gas lamp, making it especially helpful to modellers.
