The route runs through the beautiful valley of the River Avon for several miles and has carried a great variety of cross-country trains over the years. These are extensively illustrated, as are the rural stations which are of great diversity and charm. The long-closed junction stations at Limpley Stoke and Bathampton are shown in detail.
