This classic single-track cab ride was recorded from the cab of "Sprinter" unit 150129 on 11th May 1988. The journey starts from Machynlleth and makes for the beautiful Cambrian coast, which it follows as far as the terminus at Pwllheli.
A well known location along the route is the Barmouth Bridge, which famously came close to being abandoned due to being weakened by the actions of marine life. At one time the line exchanged coal and slate with famous narrow gauge railways along the route; the Talyllyn Railway, the Ffestiniog Railway and the Welsh Highland Railway (each of which thrives today as a preserved line).
If you enjoy trains running through rural scenery or taking sharp curves in order to hug the coastline then this may be the DVD you are looking for.
