The Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway (SDJR) has long been a favourite among railway historians and enthusiasts. It featured picturesque scenery, leisurely trains with a surplus of empty seats and, above all, steam locomotives.
This programme features archive film of a journey along the SDJR branch line from Evercreech Junction to Burnham, via the route through Pylle, West Pennard, Glastonbury & Street, Ashcott, Shap Wick, Edington Junction and Highbridge.
Some scenes are from the footplate and some from the carriage window.
