This programme features the London Division of BR's Western Region in the period 1960 to 1965 when Great Western Railway (GWR) steam locomotives predominated, such as Kings, Castles, Halls, Granges, Prairie tanks and Pannier tanks.
Scenes at Oxford show Southern Pacifics, which often worked trains as far as there. BR Standard steam locomotives also feature. There are fast express trains, local passenger services, freight trains and shunting operations.
