This programme looks at the route, looks at the trains and includes a return cab ride beside the driver between Paddington and Heathrow Terminal 4. The magnificent arched roof of Paddington station was originally the train shed of Isambard Kingdom Brunel's broad gauge Great Western Railway (GWR). The line was converted to standard gauge over a century ago and was more recently electrified as far as the spur to Heathrow Airport. A modern route operated by modern trains.
