Steam Locomotives of the Sugar Plantation Railways of Western Cuba.
Cuba is one of the handful of countries worldwide still using steam commercially at the end of the 1990s, albeit for only around four months of the year during the annual sugar cane harvest.
In this, the first of a series of programmes covering 1999, eight mills in the West of Cuba are visited. They are as follows:
