Originally published in 1984 this popular title is available once again, keeping alive the memory of the classic designs the Great Western Railway used for its structures.
With an anecdotal narrative and a relevant selection of photographs the author describes the workings of a typical country station.
Following a similar format to its highly successful predecessor this book is a pictorial record of the architectural and operational heritage inherited by the Western Region in 1948. Volume 1 was originally printed in 1981 and went quickly into a reprint.
