London Transport's underground, trams, and buses feature on this DVD.
Filmed in the decade between 1952 and 1962, this is a compilation of three British Transport Films (BTF) archive programmes: -
- 'All That Mighty Heart' from 1962 follows a day in the travels of a London Transport bus, on the underground, and a Green Line Coach;
- 'Operating London' from 1952/1953 is a compilation of sequences illustrating London as it was at that time;
- 'Children's Coronation' from 2nd June 1953 shows children from all over London rising early and making their way to Victoria Embankment to see the Coronation procession of Queen Elizabeth II.
An unusual bonus track is an audio recording of the Cockaigne Overture by Elgar, a segment of which was used as a sound track on the film 'Operating London'.
