Sample Bulletin Article No. 1

In WW2, the US Army Transport Corps ordered 0-6-0T and 2-8-0 steam locomotives for use in Europe and Africa. These were shipped to the UK, ready to support the push across Europe which followed the D-Day landings.

Some of the 0-6-0Ts found their way into use in the UK after hostilities ceased. Others were sold for further service to railways in Europe and the Middle East.

Examples of both USATC 0-6-0T and 2-8-0 steam locomotives have been preserved in the UK.
